WebIn 1951, one of the two missing submarines was discovered in shallow water off the entrance to Pearl Harbor. It had been partially destroyed by an internal explosive charge, probably set off by its crew when they could not escape. Raised by the U.S. Navy, it was quietly taken out to sea and dumped in deep water. WebBeginning April 15, 2024, Pearl Harbor National Memorial will charge a parking fee to all those arriving in personal or rented vehicles. The parking fee will be $7/day and will be paid via a virtual pay system through visitors' mobile devices or though an onsite kiosk located within the Visitor Center complex. Weather
